CHRISTOS, started by Cyprus-born designer Christos Yiannakou, has long been established as the couture collection for the classic, romantic bride. After heading his collection for over 20 years, Christos retired in 2005, leaving Amsale Aberra, of the well-known bridal collection Amsale, in charge of the collection. As creative director, Amsale has upheld his legacy for tradition, coupling it with her own modern sensibility. A romantic at heart, Amsale reveres this collection as a venue for her more traditional side. In contrast to the modern aesthetic which defines the AMSALE collection, this collection evokes a feeling of fairy-tale, femininity, and romance.

Their gowns have long stood out for their impeccable heirloom quality. Her use of the fine silks, french lace and silk organza are staples of the collection. CHRISTOS designs are especially known for their use of alençon lace, a type of needle lace created around the 16^th century in a french town by the same name. This same lace is used today to create CHRISTOS classic romantic designs. The combination of beautiful textiles and details, along with the designer’s classic silhouette, come together to create their timeless, romantic gowns.
