Austin Scarlett

Austin Scarlett’s modern take on classic Parisian style redefines romance with their Austin Scarlett wedding gown designs.  His designs are all at once grand while still maintaining the delicate and romantic feel many brides desire.  His gowns are truly a blend of what mother’s dream of for their daughters and of what daughters dream of for themselves.

Scarlett grew up in Cottage Grove, Oregon, where even as a child, he was designing.  This love of design drove him to move to New York as a teenager to pursue his passion for fashion.  He studied at the Art Students League of New York and The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.  All of his hard work and determination paid off when in 2005, he won the first season of Bravo’s Project Runway.  His very first creation for the show, a gown created exclusively of cornhusks, is still considered “the single most iconic design for the history of the series” by Tim Gunn and the three judges of the show.  After winning, Austin went on to become the youngest-ever Creative Director of couture wedding and eveningwear in 2006 for the design-house Amsale’s luxury collection, Kenneth Pool.  He was with them until 2009, when he began filming On the Road with Austin and Santino for the Lifetime network.

By the fall of 2012, Scarlett was ready to launch his first complete gown collection under his own label.  He debuted his new line at Neiman Marcus Flagship in Dallas, Texas and on the runways of New York’s Park Avenue Armory.  In addition to Neiman Marcus, his designs are found at Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Kleinfeld and many other luxury retailers throughout the world.

Austin believes “A wedding dress is the expression of a woman’s unique beauty at her most treasured moment.”  This belief is ever-apparent in art of couture that is an Austin Scarlett design.
