Amsale

Amsale Aberra first developed their sense of style by making her own clothes growing up in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She came to the US for college in Vermont, but when the Ethiopian government fell and her diplomat father was imprisoned, she found herself in a foreign country with no money.

She worked to pay for a political science degree from Boston State College then began to pursue her true passion at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

Amsale’s Wedding Dress Designs

Amsale brides radiate sophistication and style.  Amsale gowns are at once fashionable and timeless, combining fine handcrafting with understated accents to create an elegant look that won’t fade with time.

“Twenty years after the wedding,” Amsale said, “I want the bride to be able to look at pictures and be as pleased with the way she looked as she was on that special day.”

In the Amsale showroom in New York wedding gowns hang in line from the ceiling bars, almost as if they were proceeding down the aisle.  The high fashion atmosphere of Madison Avenue is reflected by the fragrant flowers, wood floors amd white-paneled secret doors that adorn the office.

What We LOVE About Amsale Wedding Dresses

In 1985 Amsale was a bride-to-be just like you.  She searched and searched but just couldn’t seem to find the right dress.  She said: “All of the designs on the market were so ornamented and overdone.  I couldn’t find anything simple.”

Amsale took finding the right dress into her own hands, and her first dress was so perfect for her that other women wanted one just like it.  Her line is not flashy or ornate and she has her own sense of style and elegance, something that many of our brides appreciate.
