* The Strapless Gowns: There is still a love of strapless gowns that we still see celebrities wearing. Strapless, form-fitted styles that have asymetrical pleating across the bodice and throughout the hip with trumpet flared skirts have been a big trend. The gowns are usually made out of luxurious silk satin, chiffon, organza, taffeta or lace. Strapless full ballgown bridal gowns have also been strong, too. Especially, with Vera Wang and Monique Lhuillier’s collections.
* The Mermaid and Trumpet Gowns: A mermaid-style red Reem Acra gown was shown off, flattering Eva Longoria’s body on the red carpet. These gowns are definitely growing in popularity- mostly because they are sexy gowns that are fitted to the body all the way to the knees (some to the upper thighs), and then flare outward. They can be very flattering with the right body! Although seen in some lace, the material popularly used with this trend is mainly silk organzas.
*The Full and Detailed Skirts: There have been more and more gowns seen on the red carpet, and more so in bridal fashion, that have intricate pieces of fabrics layered upon each other. In many gowns, the fabric’s layers put all together tend to look like little flowers all around the lower half of the dress. The skirt seems to almost flares out slightly, yet flows delicately with movement. Designer gowns such as Monique Lhuillier bridal gowns and Vera Wang wedding dresses illustrate this artistic detailing.

· Gowns with Belts: Beaded belts and ribbon sashes are both very popular on the red carpet and in the bridal magazines. They had just the right amount of bling/color to an ordinary or plain wedding dress.
